The USS Turner Joy Welcomes Robert N. Macomber
Meet & Greet with Book Discussion & Signings
Friday, September 6, 1:30pm
USS TURNER JOY MUSEUM SHIP
Permission to come aboard on Friday, September 6 at 1:30pm for a Meet & Greet with USNI author, Robert N. Macomber. Free & open to the public.
The informal discussion will explore the US Navy’s role in the days of 1898, in addition to the relationship between the Navy and the Army back then.
Mr. Macomber’s appearance celebrates Honoring the Enemy, which is the 14th novel in his popular series of maritime thrillers. This newest in the Honor Series, set in the period of the Spanish-American War, covers operations from June to mid-July 1898 in eastern Cuba.
Honoring the Enemy and Macomber’s earlier novels are inspired by actual events. They depict Army and Naval combat in detail, which makes each reader feel the powerful, “you-are-there” impact.
For event details or to reserve signed copies, call the gift shop at 360-792-2457. Tickets to tour the ship are available for purchase at the event.
